Demonstration Night 2017

September 26 Demonstration Night as a part of our annual Gardening Classes – informative and entertaining.  Bernie H. taught us the best way to plant a container garden…many tips & tricks included as well as reminding us all what to expect from our upcoming guided tour of Cheekwood on Saturday September 30.  Judy S. treated us to a presentation on the many types of basil and their uses & gave out seeds & recipes to those interested.  Joann A. talked about the herbs Rosemary & Lavender while displaying a lovely craft & herb resources.  Linda H. taught soil identification & the steps to making Comfrey Salve.  Linda A. brought in a good selection of Container Finishing items to make our container gardens look seasonally fresh, decorative, and more attractive.  Pollinator & Soil Static Displays with plenty of handouts available were toured during our break.  One lucky member won a huge fern from Virginia F. for answering an herb question.  Lots of great door prizes were awarded.
