A Good Day for Garden Tours

Gardening Partners were invited to join a Garden Tour planned by Williamson County Master Gardeners to visit several private gardens and the UT Jackson Gardens.  The bus arrived early and we got off to a great start.  WCMGA members were so welcoming and such a fun group.  The bus was abuzz with chatter and laughter nearly the whole way to our first stop.  Jason Reeves introduced us to his garden and happily pointed out plants of interest and answered innumerable questions.  We carried on to the Doug and Linda Wallace home (his mother) – they were wonderful and gracious hosts.  They both spend a lot of time in their gardens and why not – when they have 231 plants in the lawn and 205 in the landscaping around the house!

UT Jackson hosted a lovely and delicious lunch followed by a tour of the gardens there.  Jason still had plenty of energy to guide us around the many beds there.  After lunch, we visited two more gardens:  Kayo & Helen Mullins and Everett & Lucinda Hunley.  All wonderful and accommodating hosts.  We were served refreshments and given access to beautiful gardens.  We could not have asked for a better day.

WCMGA provided a carryout meal and snacks for the bus trip home – who could ask for a more well planned and enjoyable trip.

Jan W and Beverly B got up to some hi-jinks on the ride home providing the Dickson contingent with some free entertainment.  And all too soon, we arrived back in Dickson tired and satisfied.
