Summer Celebration

SummerCelebration2015Postcard

See the email from Gayle Mitchell for the list of members eligible for free transportation to Summer Celebration this year.

This list is made up of the persons who signed in during their work hours. Any one else is required to pay $25 dollars ( including me who did not record hours).  Admission to the event is $5, and the cooking event is also $5 extra. I have never been able to get in to the cooking event.
If you are going on the bus please e mail Gayle Mitchell ASAP.  All members can bring a guest or two (depending on space) with payment of their fees.
There are many vendors signed up for the celebration including the Master Gardeners of Jackson and Madison County. We will have lots of space to bring home plants, shrubs, trees, yard art and hypertufa.
The bus will leave from the Lowe’s parking lot at 7:30 am and return about 530 pm. we are to park near Verizon in the front left corner of the Lowe’s lot since we can no longer park at TCAT during a school day. Try to car pool if you can. Lowe’s was reluctant to allow us to park until I mentioned a bunch of enthusiastic gardeners would be getting off the bus at their garden center.
Recommend bringing your lunch. There is a place to purchase hamburgers and hot dogs on site but the line is usually very long. The bus will remain on site and makes a nice cool place to eat and rest.  last year members brought goodies and snacks to eat while traveling. Hint Hint!  Cold water will be furnished. There are drink vending machines at the site but they are usually empty by mid morning.
I have heard a number of the speakers and they are very good. Check the website and note the times and set up a schedule.  There are about 5-6 thousand people  that come to this.
If I did not cover your question call me or email me.
Thanks and I look forward to seeing you July 9 on the bus.
Gayle Mitchell
